Lisa Vinzant of Hawaii introduced the Billbergia 'Darth Vader' (La Noche x Domingos Martins), which features remarkable tubular foliage. The leaves of this plant turn almost black in color with silver bands and small blotches, exhibiting characteristics of its parent plant, Domingos Martins. When fully grown, it can reach a height of up to 16 inches and produces green spikes with purple flowers during blooming. 'Darth Vader' is a sought-after plant that stands out in any collection. To enhance its beauty, try potting it in a 10" or wider pot and allow it to cluster out. It thrives best outdoors in bright filtered light.
