Aechmea 'Pinot Noir'
Aechmea 'Pinot Noir' is a striking cultivar of *Aechmea blanchetiana*, featuring the classic upright form of the species but with a rich reddish-purple hue, reminiscent of deep red wine. Its inflorescence is spectacular, resembling flames. When exposed to intense light, the plant develops a stunning deep burgundy-red color. While it shares the same impressive size, reaching up to 40 inches tall and 40 inches wide, as the 'Orange' or 'Red' varieties, 'Pinot Noir' is more sensitive to sunlight. To prevent leaf burn, it should be gradually introduced to full sun in the early morning or late afternoon. This cultivar is best suited to low-light conditions, thriving in areas with limited or indirect light and minimal direct sunlight.
Growth habit: Very large
Light requirements: Low Light: Suitable for areas with limited or indirect light, away from direct sunlight. Can thrive in shady conditions with minimal natural light.
