Hohenbergia castellanosii
Hohenbergia castellanosii is a tough plant with interesting characteristics known for it's stunning foliage. Growth habit is stout and upright with broad leaves. Leaf color begins with a bright green, then as the plant matures it starts blushing a red color from the leaf tips inward. When growing it in bright light environment the red intensifies, coloring the green leaves further in. The flower stalk is green and rather inconspicuous. Another notable trait is on the outer base of the plant where white powdery scurf covers the lower leaves. A collector's favorite and a superior plant for outdoor landscape. Can take almost full sun but needs some shade relief throughout the day from scorching summer heat.
