Neoregelia 'El Gato'
Neoregelia 'El Gato' is a Skotak clone resulting from the cross of 'Alley Cat' and 'pauciflora'. The 'Alley Cat' parent, bred by Grace Goode, carries the influence of N. punctatissima, which is prominently reflected in this hybrid. 'El Gato' exhibits an upright growth habit, reaching a height of approximately 7 inches. It forms a flaring, vase-shaped rosette with elongated stolons.
The foliage of 'El Gato' is a pleasant apple green, with reddish banding. The bands are more pronounced on the undersides of the leaves but remain prominent on the upper sides as well. This characteristic makes 'El Gato' an excellent choice for terrarium cultivation. Additionally, it can be used as a clumping specimen in decorative containers, hanging pots, or baskets, adding a touch of beauty and versatility to any display.
Growth habit: Miniature
Light requirements: Strong filtered light: Prefers moderate levels of light, such as bright indirect light or filtered sunlight. Thrives in well-lit spaces without direct exposure to intense sunlight.
